I love #bagels, but I rarely indulge in them because they are so many damn #calories and truth be told I do not feel so awesome after eating it. One bagel is usually 4-6 ounces of #starch, which makes it around 320-480 calories without any toppings! No wonder a #baconeggcheesebagel can be upwards of 800 calories!! Crazy.
So- if you feel like having a bagel, try: a) choosing better toppings, b) having a smaller bagel c) only having half a time and d) being active right after to avoid the #energycrash. #carbload #balance #bushwick #bushwicknutrition #lazynutrition #lazynutritionist
#Salad with a crap load of #veggie #protein from #hempseeds, #pumpkinseeds (#pepitas), and #hummus. One serving of each summed up to 19 grams of protein!
That said- this was a #lightlunch. I usually do this when I know I have a heavier dinner ahead of me. Important to #balance out your day :)

#HealthyWaffle? Eating healthy does NOT mean you eat perfect all the time. In my opinion, it means that you try to eat well, balanced meals as much as you can (i.e. not fries and pasta at the same meal…), include whole foods at every meal (veggies and fruits would be a good place to start), and more than anything- that you ENJOY your meal (whatever it is). My take on a healthier waffle: I made it with less batter, added a tbsp of flaxseed, topped it with some fruit, and limited the Nutella to 1 tsp.
